En Europa se iniciará la venta a finales de año continuando por el mercado norteamericano, mientras que otros importantes mercados internacionales los seguirán en 2011.
Debido a que sustituirá al Chevrolet Matiz en el Viejo Continente, el Spark se ha inspirado en el concepto “Chevy Beat 3d”, el más popular de un trío de mini-coches conceptos que fueron revelados publicamente en 2007.
A pesar de que la producción del Spark comenzará con un estilo de carrocería de cinco puertas, mantendrá todas las claves del estilo del concepto,
añadiéndose algunos detalles mas que interesantes, como las manijas del portón trasero ocultas.
Con una longitud total de 3640 mm y una distancia entre ejes 2.375 mm, el Spark 2010 es ligeramente más grande que su competidor en el segmento “A”, el Fiat Panda que mide 3538 mm de longitud.
El diseño interior del Spark es acorde con el divertido exterior, con un tablero limpio y un conjunto de instrumentos inspirado en los usados en las motos que se ha montado sobre la columna de la dirección.

En Europa, se podrá optar entre motores a gasolina de 4 cilindros y 16 válvulas de 1,0 y 1,2 lts. que prometen entregar interesantes potencias con excelente eficiencia de combustible y bajas emisiones.
Dependiendo de los mercados donde se comercialice, el Spark incluirá un equipo de seguridad que incluirá airbags frontales para el conductor y pasajero delantero, airbags laterales delanteros, airbags de cortina protectora de cabezas en el techo, frenos antibloqueo y control electrónico de estabilidad.
